Identifying Ocean Plastic Sources
Posted by Kyle Patry | Florida, United States
Current scientific data indicates 80% of all marine pollutants originate from land-based sources. However, limited research has been conducted on the sources that feed the world's oceans. In order to conserve and protect the marine environment and coastal economy from the impacts of plastic pollution as well as ensure navigation safety surveying these sources should be a priority. This research is critical in furthering the understanding of the issue by identifying the sources and distribution of pollutants.
I really like this concept. Understanding the source and making positive changes in the areas where it originates is key! Whether this idea is selected or not please continue to pursue it.
