Bullying Marine Life in La Jolla, CA

Recently, I heard a news piece about the residents of La Jolla, CA wanting to keep sea lions and marine birds off the nearby bluffs. They are more concerned with the unfortunate smell of the guano than with the possible ramifications of altering the habitat of local animals. I wish there was a solution that appeased the residents without harming the animals or altering their habitat.
